Tim Jewell, Chief Technology Officer

Tim is the inventor of Data Deposit Box, Acpana's core product. His main goal is the enhancement of our products to drive clients satisfaction. Tim creates technology to automate systems with maximum efficiency.

One of his early achievements was streamlining the office practices at IBM with an online fax product that eliminated bottlenecks for the sales team during product releases. Observing that time-consuming lineups would occur frequently, he designed a solution that was then sold to 8 other IBM offices around the world.

At IBM, Tim was a Marketing Representative as well as a Systems Engineer, putting his expertise and insight to use in all ends of the product development spectrum.

Striking out on his own to open an IT consultancy, Tim developed internet-based solutions for myriad clients, from technology vendors to major Canadian finance organizations. One of his main clients was the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. At this point, Tim forged his working relationship with Rob Schenkel that would carry through to Data Deposit Box and Acpana.

Tim eventually became CTO for one of his clients: BayStreetDirect.com, which was recently bought by NIAD Systems.

From there, Tim moved on to be CTO at NetDriven Solutions Inc., where he developed the prototype for Data Deposit Box as a function for unused storage space, matching it up with a growing consumer need.

Tim holds a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. He has won several programming awards and has completed the Canadian Securities Course, as well as various IBM professional development training programs.
