Rob Schenkel, Senior Systems Architect

Rob has an eye for user interfaces that facilitate clear and intuitive interactions. He brings significant software design and web development experience to Acpana. As Senior Systems Architect, Rob continues the work he did with Tim Jewell on the initial development of the Data Deposit Box prototype at Net Driven. His main focus is updating the web interface and related features to fit the needs of users and ISPs.

Rob came to Acpana with extensive experience developing online e-commerce applications for technology-driven companies under his belt through his own firm, Robert Schenkel Consulting. For NIAD Systems, he oversaw the web presence and the interaction model between investors and syndication managers. For NetDriven Solutions Inc., he integrated e-commerce features into the website. Prior to that, he worked on a VB application to handle communication by IBM's MQ between an internal application and Royal Bank for Basis 100 Inc.

During the early stages of his career, Rob worked with a number of high-profile organizations such as BayStreetDirect.com, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan and McDonald's Restaurant of Canada developing database applications and other web-based technologies.

Rob holds an Honours B. Sc. in Computing and Computer Electronics from Wilfrid Laurier University and has added a wide range of programming and system administration courses to his training, as well as the Canadian Securities Course.
